It is abhorrent and disheartening that MPs are planning to pass a bill that will see them burden taxpayers by drawing monthly perks after retirement for the rest of their lives.
The MPs currently earn a Sh850,000 salary per month, a sitting allowance of Sh7,500 per session, are entitled to a mortgage of Sh20 million for a house in Nairobi, a staff stipend of Sh200,000 and a car grant worth Sh3.3 million every five-year term for their services to the nation.
