Changing the receiver-managers of Muhoroni Sugar Company will disrupt the privatisation calendar for the State-owned miller. Explaining why the Kenya Sugar Board opted to renew the contracts of the receivers — Mr Kipng’etich Bett and Mr Martin Owitti — KSB chairman Okoth Obado said that the Privatisation Commission was expected to sell the Government’s stake in all sugar millers. Although the tenure of the receivers expired on February 9, they were retained to facilitate smooth privatisation of the firm, he said.
