CNN International has announced the appointment of Award-winning Kenyan journalist and anchor Victoria Rubadiri to its team.

Rubadiri will take on a new role in the long-running series "Connecting Africa" and contribute to the network's newsgathering operations in Nairobi.

"Connecting Africa" explores the exciting world of business in Africa, featuring stories of growing companies and the impact of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

The show celebrates its fifth year this year, and Rubadiri will be part of the team bringing these stories to life.

Rubadiri is a well-respected journalist with experience as an anchor and reporter at Citizen TV in Nairobi.

She has also made her mark as a radio presenter in both Kenya and the United States, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Her talent for storytelling was recognized in 2020 when she received the prestigious BBC World News Komla Dumor Award.

Rubadiri is excited to join CNN and share her passion for Africa with a global audience. She'll be working alongside veteran CNN anchor and correspondent Eleni Giokos to bring viewers the stories of African businesses making a difference.

Expressing her excitement about the opportunity, Rubadiri stated, "I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to work at CNN and to bring my experience and passion to its global audience. Connecting Africa champions the people, projects and companies revolutionising African business and I’m looking forward to working alongside Eleni and the team to get out on the ground and tell these stories."

CNN International's Senior Vice President and Global Head of Features Content, Ellana Lee, praised Rubadiri's hiring, saying, “Victoria will be a fantastic addition to Connecting Africa bringing a wealth of expertise and storytelling experience from across the continent.”

"Connecting Africa" is a collaboration between CNN and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
