Two caught on CCTV dumping seven cats outside KSPCA office

Two men are on the run after dumping cats along Lang’ata Road.

The two were captured by cameras outside Kenya Society for Protection and Care of Animals (KSPCA) on May 12.

According to a report by the Society, the culprits dumped seven cats sealed in cartons around 6.50 am.

“Seven cats in three boxes were dumped outside the gates of KSPCA on Lang’ata road,” the society shared

The society explains that the act will expose the animals to unnecessary suffering.

“We believe that the people captured on CCTV have further information about this matter and we would like to speak to them,” the society added.

An animal expert observed that animal welfare is a collective action.

“This action has put the cats in unnecessary danger. People leave their cats to multiply and then realise they are too many and abandon them. These animals deserve better treatment than that,” added the expert

City Lawyer Albert Onyango says the law prohibits cruelty towards an animal.

This include starvation and denial of water, abandonment, poisoning, and killing in a cruel manner.
