UON permits election of international, people with disabilities student leaders

International and students living with disability from the University of Nairobi are celebrating after the administration allowed an extension of their elections to incorporate them in student leadership.

In a memo to students, Prof Collins Odote, the chairman of the students’ elections, said the two groups of students would be allowed to have representatives in the campuses that lacked representation.

“... following a request to the VC by UNSA leadership during the induction workshop that faculties and campus teams that do not have international and PWDs representatives be allowed to fill in the position,” read part of the memo.

It added: “The university management has considered this request and given it approval.”
