Police have been allowed to detain a man accused of swindling Sh1.4 million from a businesswoman he met on Facebook.
In a sworn affidavit presented in a Makadara court, the investigating officer stated that Monica Kamweru reported the matter at Kayole police station on December 23 last year. At the time, the suspect, James Kinyanjui Mbugua, operated a Facebook account where he posed as a reliable person who could offer any assistance.
