Kalonzo didn’t grab land, says legislator

An MP has cautioned fellow politicians against branding Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka a land grabber.

Kathiani MP Robert Mbui said those claiming Mr Kalonzo had grabbed land at the Yatta National Youth Service (NYS) should provide evidence.

"If they don't have any evidence to back their claims they should keep quiet and apologise to Kalonzo forthwith," he said.

The Wiper Organising Secretary said the former vice president had genuinely bought the farm.

"Alongside Kalonzo at the NYS land there are so many other individuals owning the land even from outside Ukambani region and we have never been told of their fate or whether they bought or grabbed it," said Mr Mbui.

The lawmaker warned Jubilee leaders against causing unnecessary tribal tension within the country out of what he called selective political witch-hunt.

"Kenya belongs to all of us and we should live as brothers and sisters without some of us, who are in power, belittling and witch-hunting those in the Opposition,'' he said.

He said if Kalonzo had for sure grabbed the so called NYS land, he should have been taken to court long ago and the land repossessed.
