After winning the Davis Cup and Soldier’s Salute Championships, Samurai have set their eyes on the Chairman’s Cup hitting-off at Nairobi Polo Club this afternoon.

Led by captain and handicap 2.5 Raphael Nzomo, the team of Izzy Stichbury (0.5), Hiromi Nzomo (0) and Eva Kamau (-1.5) is not taking chances in this tournament at all cost if the words of Hiromi (Nzomo) are anything to go by.

“We are also ready for the next tournament (Chairman’s Cup) and again we’ll give our best to ensure we clinch the title to end the month in style,” Hiromi said in last weekend’s interview.

They (by then Nzomos playing for Classic FM) missed Maria Bencivenga Trophy after their team was eliminated in the semifinals.

“It will not be easy but we are ready for the title, once again,” said Hiromi who looks forward to be selected into the national team.

After taking the club by storm last weekend winning all their matches, it will not be different for Samurai who only made one change from their last weekend’s outfit. Louis Roumeguere will be replaced by Izzy Stichbury.

Roumeguere will be in the Tanqueray team of handicap 2 Phillip Arunga, Moses Wainaga (0.5) and Miranda Romijn (-1.5).

The Arunga-led side lost to Samurai 7-1 in the final of the Soldier’s Salute Championships.

Five teams are taking part in the two-day tournament with the four of them boasting handicaps 1.5 save for Radio Africa who post handicap 1.
