Entrepreneurial journey has taught her never to give up

In 1988, Catherine Mumbua (pictured) and her husband Chege Wanjoya started Silmak as a family business. At the start, they worked with non-governmental organisations, taking blow after blow en route to establishing a formidable family business.

After a steady growth, involving the arrival of her BA in Entrepreneurship and MBA in Strategic Management from Kenya Methodist University, they founded Genesis Care, a brand of Silmak Agencies that offers end to end menstrual hygiene solutions, and more, in 2015.
