Isiolo residents to sue State over four missing persons

Isiolo residents plan to compel the State to produce four people who were allegedly kidnapped by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers.

They have contracted former Imenti Central MP Gitobu Imanyara to file a case at the Meru High Court by Friday this week.

The petition was presented by the family of Mohamed Abdullahi, who was kidnapped on Tuesday last week allegedly by KWS personnel.

County leaders said they would help the family at individual level to seek legal redress.

Governor Godana Doyo said efforts to talk to county national government officials, KWS and police to help in tracing the four have failed, leaving the leaders with no option but to seek legal redress.

Mr Doyo said the leaders will push for a Habeas Corpus to compel the State to produce Mr Abdullahi and three others who had gone missing from Kinna under the same circumstance.
