Villagers unveil pastor’s kesha missions

Drama unfolded last Monday when a pastor in Bureti District was caught red handed in bed with another man’s wife.

Residents were treated to a free movie when the woman and the pastor were paraded for all to see before being frog marched to Litein Police Station.

The pastor has allegedly been frequenting the matrimonial home of the woman under the guise of conducting evening prayers at the home when the woman’s husband is away.

On Sunday evening, Villagers saw the pastor entering the woman’s home while carrying a Bible. They informed the relatives of the husband about the pastor, who normally conducts "prayers" up to late hours.

Fateful day

On the fateful day, the villagers and the husband’s relatives stormed the home in the morning and entered the house where they found the man of God and the woman in a compromising position.

The villagers, who had surrounded the homestead, flushed the two lovers out from their love nest naked before ordering then to dress up. They then frogmarched the pair to the police station.

Tulwet Location chief Richard Chepkwony and his assistant John Lang’at were alerted about the incident and rushed to the scene.

"We called the administrators to witness the drama so that it does not become a hearsay on the side of those who want to absolve the amorous pastor from having love affairs with his flock," said a villager who did not want to be identified.

Swift action by the two provincial administrators saved the pastor from the hundreds of the villagers who were baying for his blood by convincing them to take the two lovers to the police station.

Overnight prayers

The villagers said the "man of God" has been overheard saying the home requires kesha (overnight prayers) and that was why he was a frequent visitor.

"His mission is to eat the forbidden fruit under the guise of conducting special prayers," said a neighbour.

The woman’s husband was said to be away on a business trip.

Bureti Deputy OCPD Patrick Nandi confirmed that the alleged amorous pastor and the woman, a mother of three, were taken to the police station.

They were later released since it was consensual and the pastor confessed spending the night at woman’s home.
