Raila is doing them a favour

It's a good thing that none other than Raila Odinga's spokesman has denied the rumour that hooligans in Cote d'Ivoire attacked the Prime Minister's convoy. Because if that were the case, they had better be warned in the strongest terms possible that they are playing with fire.

For starters, if anybody must stone the premier, it’s we Kenyans because he is ours — not some jokers in a country that the majority of Kenyans can’t place on the world map.

Second, and this is very important, Raila is doing them a big favour. He is fighting a rebellion within his ODM party with the General Election barely two years away. On top of that is the onerous task of coordinating Government affairs — not an easy task when you are dealing with crooks who dip their hands in the till when you are standing right next to them.

So for him to find time from his busy schedule to sort out a mess he didn’t create means he should be welcomed with ululations, traditional dances and a red carpet — not stones. Listen, the people of CÙte d’Ivoire: We know all about stones. Don’t mess up with our premier.
