Komon shows class to win 10,000m race

World junior 10,000m silver medallist Leonard Komon of Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) won in style when he recorded 29 39:96 in the same discipline in the Kenya Communications Sports Organisations (Kecoso) games at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Komon was followed by John Koech of Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in 29:46.02 seconds and Stephen Kirui of KPA in 30:3801.

Josephine Kimunyu won the women’s 800 metres in 2:18.2, followed by Regina Wangui in 2:21.21 and Gladys Mutiso of KPA in 2:35.7. Justus Ng’eno of PCK won the men’s 1500 metres in 3:57.5, followed by team mate Geoffrey Cheruiyot in 3:54.4 and Josephat Rono of KAA in 4:02.8. In the men’s 400 metres hurdles, Eliud Kigen of PCK won in 54.53 seconds followed by Geoffrey Cheruiyot of PCK in 56.06 seconds. Josephat Rono of KAA came third in 56.50 seconds.

MEN’S HURDLES

In men’s 200 metres, Enock Omega of PCK won in 22.61 seconds, followed by Raphael Origa of KPA in 22.78 seconds and Timothy Sein of KAA in 22.78 seconds.

Geoffrey Cheruiyot of PCK also triumphed in the men’s 110 metres hurdles after returning in 16.10 seconds, followed by team-mate Eliud Kigen in 16.19 seconds. Timothy Sein of Kenya Ports Authority was third in 16.29 seconds.
