Life is all about choices- today's choice is big and it counts

They say that the circumstances you are experiencing right now have been largely determined by the choices you have made along your journey of life, and that they are exactly what you deserve.

Contentious, I know, but there is no doubt that the quality of life we lead is guided by our choices.

We may not always be conscious about it, but this is the simple truth.

Choice, according to my dictionary, "consists of the mental process of judging the merits of multiple options and selecting one or more of them. While a choice can be made between imagined options ("what would I do if ...?"), often a choice is made between real options and followed by the corresponding action."

Life is about choices.

We make choices every second of our waking life.

We make choices the minute we wake up — what dress to put on, what to eat for breakfast.

We decide what we shall do with our day, what tasks we shall perform, where we shall go, what calls we shall make, what attitude we shall adopt.

We choose which school to attend, which career to take up, whom to marry and even how many children to have.

You choice not to drink this evening may see to it that you avoid that accident.

Some of the choices we make impact on our life in a big way, while some do not matter much. Still, they count.

The choices we make may not guarantee a good life, but they give us the comfort that we did what we could do better our lives.

Often times, we learn from choices; and time and again, we know what choices to make save for the fact that our emotions get in the way of us making sober decisions.

Sometimes, habit stops us from making those decisions that truly impact on the quality of our lives.

But since we are used to doing things in a particular manner, or thinking in a particular way, we end up tossing thought to the side and make rather irrational choices.

Choices that harm us and put us at a disadvantage.

Choices that may mean the difference between life and death.

Like this anonymous person once said, "There may be a thousand little choices in a day. All of them count." Today's choice is big. And it counts.
