Nurses Union Secretary General Seth Panyako.

Nairobi, Kenya: Nurses sign return to work deal with county representatives ending impasse, talks on CBA to begin in January 2017; Doctors’ strike still on.

The signing of the deal came a day after chaos rocked the nurses' union's top decision-making organ as the Sh7 billion deal signed by the Government was dramatically rejected.

The Kenya National Union of Nurses National Governing Council (NGC) had rejected the disputed return-to-work formula that aimed to break the nationwide strike.

The 'duty resumption agreement' had been signed by some of the union officials led by Deputy Secretary General Maurice Opetu.

The signing of return to work deal brings an end to almost two-week strike. The Doctors are still on strike.
