City Catholic church catechist accused of defiling boy, then giving him Sh10

Dominico Wandera was accused of intentionally attempting to defile the standard two pupil on November 22 after the minor attended a catechism class at the nearby church with his elder brother.

A Catholic Church catechist accused of attempting to defile a seven-old-boy in Nairobi’s Saika area has been charged in court.

Dominico Wandera was accused of intentionally attempting to defile the standard two pupil on November 22 after the minor attended a catechism class at the nearby church with his elder brother.

After the lessons, it is claimed that Wandera asked the boy’s mother to have her son remain behind for counseling over his    unbecoming behaviour. Police said after everyone had left, the catechist closed the doors and windows of the church and left tap running as he ordered the boy to undress and lie facing down on the table where he cried after feeling too much pain.

Wandera then gave the boy Sh10 to buy sweets, but the minor refused and threw it away and later reported the matter to his mother who alerted neighbours.

The suspect was arrested by the public who took him to the police station. He denied the charges and was set free on a surety bond of Sh300,000. The case will be mentioned on December 13.
