Chief Justice David Maraga’s has been warned to brace himself for battle in the Judiciary by those who want to subvert the course of justice
The statement by Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i at a church in Justice Maraga’s home was made during a thanksgiving prayer ceremony that was attended by prominent church leaders from Nyamira County.
Matiang’i said that Justice Maraga’s role would be critical even though he will be criticised and praised in equal measure for the work that he will do.
Dr Chris Bichang’a of Sironga Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nyamira County, who also attended the thanksgiving prayers, joined the clergy in urging Maraga to remain steadfast in discharging his duties, and taking on criminal cartels within the courts.
Most of the clergy who attended were from the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gusii Region.
