Catholic Church announces stringent measures to fight corruption

The Catholic Church in Kenya has announced drastic measures to curb corruption, a menace that have recently a phenomenon synonymous with Kenyan politics.

Bishop Cornelius Korir of Eldoret Catholic Diocese has said that the church want just 10 per cent from politicians beyond that is corruption.

"God wants 10 per cent only", he observed.

Speaking during Mass at St. Michael's Chaplaincy, Moi University on Sunday, November 13, 2016, Bishop emphasized the need to think about others, the country and shun corruption.

He was quick to question the source of the huge sum of money given during church harambees by politicians. He paused, “Where do politicians get such huge sums of money?”

Earlier on, the Catholic Bishops on 2nd November, 2016 at State House, Nairobi, said the Church is escalating the war against corruption. Through the Catholic, Justice and Peace Commission, the Church is drafting a book on how to fight corruption.
