Current MCSK chair Bernard Mukaisi has been suspended less than 2 weeks after the former chair Maurice Okoth was cleared of all charges in a court of law.

Maurice resigned after being suspended form the body.

Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) Board of Directors in a Special Board Meeting held on 26th   September 2016 at its head office chaired by Director Tom Kodiyo, resolved and suspended Director Bernard Mukaisi from acting as the Chairman of the B.O.D of MCSK for 30 days for gross misconduct and abuse of office pending further investigations.

This resolution was arrived at pursuant to a letter from MCSK Directors dated 19th September 2016 and also with reference to a letter from the suspended chairman dated 22nd September 2016.

This move has been embraced by MCSK members as a step in the right direction in addressing their grievances in the management of their economic rights in copyrighted musical works that have been assigned to MCSK.

MCSK Board has appointed Director Albert Gacheru, to act as Chairman and he is expected to provide direction and professional management of the society during this period.
