Kenyatta University main campus men’s volleyball team beat Gretsa University in the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) Nairobi Conference games over the weekend.

KU picked a 3-0 (17-25,17-25,10-25) win over Gretsa during the games played at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

With the win, Kenyatta University dislodged league leaders St Paul’s University (SPU) from the summit of the table with 18 points with the later a point behind.

KCA University remained in fifth place with nine points following a 2-3(25-18,20-25,23-25,25-23,09-25) defeat to Mount Kenya University (MKU).

KU Ruiru Campus gave KCA University their second defeat of the weekend 3-0(25-12,25-14,25-21) to add their point tally to five that moved them to the sixth place behind KCA University.

JKUAT is third on the log with 16 points.

In the women’s category, KU defeated MKU 3-0 (25-16,25-19,25-23) and beat Daystar 3-0 (25-13,25-18,25-17) to remain in second place on 14 points behind leaders SPU, who have amassed 17 points.

In another fixture of the day, MKU picked easy points 3-0 (25-00,25-00,25-00) against JKUAT, who failed to honour the fixture.

MKU moved to third place with six points ahead of Daystar who have five points.

In handball men’s category, KU suffered a 19-26 defeat at the hands of their hosts while the women’s category saw KU labour to defeat MKU 19-18.

In basketball women’s category, JKUAT whitewashed MKU 34-10 in their first fixture of the weekend, but MKU reorganised to pick a 27-26 win over KU Ruiru Campus.
