Energy Commission shuts down several petrol stations for non-compliance

NAIROBI, KENYA: Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday announced closure of several petrol stations for selling adulterated petroleum.

In a newspaper notice, the authority said it conducted 4, 532 tests in 823 petroleum outlets and tests from 36 sites turned out to be non-compliant.

“Respective county commissioners were requested to withdraw the licenses of operators of the defaulting outlets,” said the commission in its communication.

Some of the affected stations include Kabati, Diamonds oil, Lagos, digital, Rogmer and Afana filling stations.
