Kenya biggest beneficiary of support from Japan, says ambassador

Over 300 development projects in Kenya have been funded by the Japan Official Development Assistance in the last 27 years, Japan’s Ambassador to Kenya, Tatsushi Terada (pictured), has said.

This makes Kenya the biggest beneficiary of projects funded by this organisation, said the envoy as he presided over the handing over of a maternity ward at Kiptulwa Dispensary in Sotik Constituency yesterday.

The organisation has funded the development of schools and medical institutions even as it offered support to community-based organisations and NGOs that are making to  contribution to helping to improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans.

 Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and President Uhuru Kenyatta have identified health programmes that can improve the lives of Kenyans, Mr Terada said.
