AY and Diamond's song 'Zigo Remix' banned in Tanzania

Tanzanian hip-hop artiste AY’s hit song, Zigo Remix, has been banned by Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA).

The video, which features superstar Diamond Platnumz, was reportedly banned from all Tanzanian stations because of its raunchy https://cdn.standardmedia.co.ke/images.

“I think this is what is holding back the success of many artistes in Tanzania. They should also ban videos from the West that have more provocative https://cdn.standardmedia.co.ke/images than Zigo Remix,” he complained.

According to the Tanzanian Bongo Flava artiste, the video was banned from being played during the day, and will only be aired at night.

“TCRA wants it to be aired only at night. They sent the official announcements to TV stations, stopping them from playing the video,” he said.

Asked if they had a reason for accepting Western videos that are even more provocative, the star said, “They didn’t reply, and I don’t know what’s wrong with them. They singled out Zigo Remix but said they don’t have any problem with AY,” he replied.
