Don’t spoil your children as you engage in merry making this long festive season

The long awaited Christmas festivities are almost here. As has been the norm in the past, the December holiday season is filled with endless parties as people endeavour to end the year in style.

But in the spirit of partying, adults forget that they have minors in their midst and end up introducing them to alcoholic drinks.

Research has shown that many minors are introduced to alcohol by their family, friends and relatives at a tender age. It is especially during the December school break that children are exposed to adult way of life.

Parents should therefore exercise caution not to let their children engage in wayward behaviors. A simple but effective way to ensure children remain steadfast in their discipline is by ensuring that they are never idle. As they say, an idle mind is the devil‘s workshop.

Parents should therefore occupy their children with household chores and holiday assignments to curb their idleness. They can also enroll them in programmes that help them bring out the best of their talents.
