With two victories on their side, Sanlam Money Market were headed for the Bell Inn Cup victory of the Christmas Championships at Manyatta Polo Club in Gilgil yesterday.

The Raphael Nzomo led-team first defeated JWS Trinity 6-3 in their opening match on Friday to make their intention to lift the title known.

Nzomo scored a hattrick with a double from Geoffrey Kimani (who came in for Amani Nzomo) with Izzy Stichburry putting the ball through the sticks once for the winners.

To score for JWS Trinity was Mbu Ngugi who ran away with a double as Jamie Excell scored once for the losers.

"We had a good game in our opening match that we won convincingly in the absence of our playmaker Amani (Nzomo) who was replaced by Kimani (Geoffrey) who equally did a good job. Amani is expected to play in the next matches," Raphael (Nzomo) told Standard Sports.

At the knockout stages, Sanlam Money Market walloped JWS Rescues 6-4. [Ben Ahenda]
