Student wins Sh348k multibet on Straikabet

21-year-old Joshua Ochoki Rioba is the first multibet winner on Kenya's new betting platform Straikabet.

Rioba, a third-year student at the University of Nairobi, pursuing Electrical Engineering during the weekend deposited Sh2500, with a view of getting the 200 per cent bonus on his first deposit, and staked Sh1500.

He then placed a long-running bet (multibet) on nine teams and won Sh348,635.

"I feel great after winning this money," said an elated Rioba, further explaining how he got wind of the new betting website, Straikabet.

"I saw the ads on Twitter, where Straikabet had an offer of getting a 200 per cent bonus on your first deposit. I deposited Sh2500, expecting a bonus of around Sh4500. I placed bets on the teams I thought would win, watched some of the matches and won," Rioba explained.

Standard Group General Manager Adversiting Peter Njigua congratulated Rioba on becoming the first big winner on the platform.

"I congratulate Joshua for being our first big winner on Straikabet. I encourage more to join the user-friendly platform, which offers lots of prizes," said Njigwa.

Rioba revealed he would pay school fees with some of his winnings, while also investing in a good laptop.
