William Ruto promises 50M to Stars if they qualify for African Cup of Nations

Deputy President William Ruto has promised the national team Harambee Stars Kshs 50M should they qualify for the 2019 African Nations Cup. Stars currently sit third in the group pointless after falling to Sierra Leone mid last year in the first match.

Besides this, Ruto has promised a team bus should the Cecafa 2017 Champions make the cut amongst the teams that will be battling for the continental crown.

The President of Football Kenya Federation Nick Mwendwa on his twitter handle confirmed the pledge. Mwendwa thanked Ruto makin a bold step in motivating the players, who have lifted the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup a couple of days ago, after beating Zanzibar 3-2 on penalties.

“Sh10M more for the boys from @UKenyatta, thank you, sir, official Harambee Stars bus in the new year, 50M for the team to qualify for the cup of nations all via William Ruto,” FKF president Nick Mwendwa said on his twitter post.

Kenya has a tricky match against the Black Stars of Ghana in March 2018, before traveling to Addis Ababa to face Ethiopia..
