Wales and Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale came off the bench to strike a winning goal for his club at the Club World Cup semifinals against Saudi Arabian outfit Al Jazira.  Spanish giants won 2-1 after struggling in the first half to get into the game and grab and equalizer through Cristiano Ronaldo.

Nonetheless, both teams had goals disallowed after lengthy decision making by the match officials. It is what has angered Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric. The Croat has lamented the lengthy decision making that took place at Emirates.

Modric was referring to the cancelled header that Casemiro made but was ruled as a “no-goal” on the basis that it did not cross the line. The midfielder described the process engaging the use of the Video Assistant Referee as a ‘mess.’

While speaking to the Spanish media, Marca, Modric said that he was not sure whether Casemiro’s header was canceled accurately but the longer duration that the officials took is somewhat worrying.

He remained cautious by avoiding making further comments as he cited possible criticism. Real Madrid will now face the Brazilian team in the finals of the Club world Cup that will be played on Saturday.

Should they win the match, the Los Blancos will have bagged their fifth trophy in 2017 after winning the La Liga trophy as well as the Uefa Champions League, and Uefa Super Cup.
