Former champions Kwanthanze are a match away from reclaiming the East Africa Secondary Schools girls’ volleyball title.

The Kenyan girls will be seeking to overcome Rwanda’s St Aloys who stand between them and a third East Africa crown.

Kwanthanze who returned to the regional scene after a one-year absence beat counterparts Cheptil 3-0 to book a finals date.

In a repeat of the national finals the two-time Kwanthanze once again dominated the game from the onset to take the first set 25-13.

The Machakos County students made work easy of their Nandi compatriots taking the second set 25-9. The third set was neck to neck battle as Cheptil battled to regain their footing.

However, it was too late for them as Kwanthanze fought to take the third set 25-22 and inch closer to reclaiming the title they lost in 2015 to Rwanda’s G.S Indagaburezi. [By Elizabeth Mburugu]
