  • Coutinho emailed transfer request to Liverpool last Friday

Liverpool have rejected an improved £114million (€125 euros) bid from Barcelona for Brazilian superstar Philippe Coutinho.

The Spanish giants have now seen their THIRD bid turned down by the Merseyside club for the Reds midfielder.

Barcelona are desperate to land the signature of the 25-year-old after selling Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee.

New coach Ernesto Valverde is desperate to strengthen the squad following their humiliating Spanish Super Cup defeat against Real Madrid this week.

Jurgen Klopp has maintained that his star midfielder is not for sale this summer at any price even though Coutinho handed in a transfer request last week.

The talented midfielder has yet to feature for Liverpool this season after sustaining a back injury in training and will be absent once again when the Reds face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
