Athletics legend Paul Tergat is set to be honoured by the International Athletics Association Federation (IAAF) for his outstanding contribution to the sport.

Tergat will be honoured with the Veteran Pin Award during the opening ceremony of the 51st IAAF Congress on August 1, preceding the World Championships in London. The founder of the Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA) has been instrumental in the athletics fraternity and his contributions have been noted by many, including the world governing body.
