Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski embraced at full-time after Real Madrid knocked Bayern Munich out of the Champions League semi-final.

They exchanged a few words, leading to speculation as to what was said and, according to AS,Ronaldo asked Lewa if he would join him next season in the Spanish capital.

There appears to be a feeling inside Zinedine Zidane's locker room that the 28-year-old would be a top signing too.

As not only did Ronaldo make a plea to the joint-top goal scorer in the Bundesliga, but captain Sergio Ramos did too.

Despite Karim Benzema's form not dipping, the pair reportedly ensured him there would be space for him under Zizou.

President Florentino Perez, too, is keen, though Bayern will not be push-overs and hold all the cards in any potential negotiations.

Lewandowski re-signed for four more years recently and therefore became the highest paid player in the Bundesliga on €15m per season with add-ons bumping that up to as much as €18m.
