Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa is confident that the team will turn a new chapter with Uganda coach Sam Ssimbwa in line to take over ahead of the 2017 season.

The team had to fight for survival until the last day of the season, with their fate out of their hands and Kalekwa feels the process of rebuilding is best handled starting with a capable technical bench and has hired Ssimbwa, who handled the team in 2010.

He says Ssimbwa's knowledge of Sofapaka and his profile as one of the most respected coaches in the region will make his work bearable at the team.

"We are still in talks with Ssimbwa but I am sure he will be coming to take over the team for the 2017 season onwards. The core of a strong team is built from a strong technical bench and I think Ssimbwa's profile is very clear.
