CONFIRMED: Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain move to Juventus

Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain has completed a Juventus medical in Madrid and will sign for the Italian champions in a stunning €94million deal.

The Argentinean forward will sign a four-year deal that looks set to tighten Juve's grip on Serie A by stripping rivals Napoli of the country's best player last season.

Higuain scored a stunning 36 league goals in 2015/16, equalling the Italian record for the most in a top-flight campaign.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid had all shown interest in the 28-year-old but Napoli held firm on their valuation and told suitors they would have to activate the striker's €94million release clause.

Juventus, on the brink of selling Paul Pogba to Manchester United for a world-record €120million, have decided they are willing to do so and have agreed a contract worth €8million a year with Higuain.

All that remains is for the Old Lady to inform Napoli that they will meet Higuain's clause and they can confirm the biggest transfer in Serie A history and one that will likely ensure the Turin club remains top of the pile for many years to come.
