Gunners tell Walcott he STILL has a future

Theo Walcott has been reassured he has a future at Arsenal, even though they are in the market for a striker.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already spoken to England forward Walcott and told him he will largely compete for a place on the right in future rather than through the middle.

Wenger has gone for Leicester striker Jamie Vardy and while Arsenal have yet to seal a deal the fact they are chasing the 30-year-old throws fresh doubt over Walcott, who struggled to get regular games at the end of the season.

But Mirror Sport has already revealed Arsenal will reject offers for Walcott andWenger clearly wants him to stay , despite making plans to add a striker this summer.

Walcott, 27, has been interesting West Ham but has three years to run on his contract and is prepared to try to fight for a place on the right.
