Over 1,300 athletes are ready for this year's Mau Region Teachers Training Colleges Term One games.
It will a busy schedule for the competitors as the games start tomorrow at Moi Teachers Training College in Baringo County.
Eight teams have confirmed participation in the annual games that comprise football, volleyball, netball, basketball, handball and hockey. Winners of the championships will represent the region in the national games set for this month.
The participating colleges are hosts Moi TTC, Baringo, Tambach, Mosoriot, Baraton-Kapsabet, Baraton Castello, Chester and defending champions, Kericho TTC.
The region's sports association secretary general Duncan Okwaro said they have made adequate arrangements for the three-day competition.
"We have put all mechanisms in place to ensure the games run smoothly. We expect them to be run professionally and without complains," Okwaro said.
Football matches will be played at Kabarnet Boys, Ossen High School and Moi Primary School, Kabartonjo. The other disciplines will be at Moi TTC Baringo.
The competition will officially be opened by Teachers Service Commission Baringo County officials, Moi TTC Baringo Principal Richard Ndwati and Mau Region Teachers Training Colleges Games chairman John Surum.
Overall defending champions Kericho are tipped to retain the title.
