Who is Amos Wakili, the man who wants FKF Nairobi Branch chairmanship post?

Wakili also holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the African Nazarene University.

As the club's patron, Wakili has been the main sponsor of Baba Dogo United FC since 2012 to-date. He is also the club's legal representative.

Achievements

Since Amos Wakili’s involvement with the club, Baba Dogo United FC has produced players to top KPL clubs and NSL clubs in Kenya.

He also sponsored Baba Dogo United FC in two editions of the then GoTv Shield Cup.

Ahead of the polls scheduled for September 19, Amos Wakili has released an outline of his Manifesto as he seeks to capture the FKF Nairobi East branch chairmanship.

Wakili’s manifesto at a glance

1. Affordable FKF League
- Promote the right to play football as documented in the Sports Act, 2010 Kenya Constitution.
- Reduce the already existing exorbitant affiliation and registration fees for local football clubs as a requirement to participate in local leagues.
- Ensure that the FKF league is affordable and economically manageable from the sub-county, county, regional and Division 2 levels.
- Ensure timely payment of match officials (referees).

2. Youth Football System
- Dedicate the sub-county league purely towards the promotion of youth league, U15 going downwards.
- Involve youth football experts and institutions in advising on the best systems and models for youth football development, coach education etc.

3. Localised Football Infrastructure and Facilities
- Improve the standards of sports and football facilities; engage partners, and investors in developing, re-designing and improving local football pitches and facilities.

4. Sponsorship and Partnership
- Engage various stakeholders at all levels, private entities, the corporate sectors, with the aim of reducing the cost of playing football at the GRASSROOTS level in Nairobi, hence esnuring that is is economically sensible to manage a local football club.
- Engage relevant institutions and bodies in developing and investing in foobtall; the county government of Nairobi, local companies, the ministry of sports, international partners etc.

5. Fairness in the league (legit promotion, relegation, and dispute resolution)
- Ensure referees officiate to the maximum fairness standards, without biasness and match fixing practices.
- Ensure a fair football dispute resolution mechanism in place, with the aim of advancing football in the County.
- Promote only ethical measures in the promotion and relegation procedures of teams in the league tiers systems.

6. Legal support and advisory to football clubs
- An advocate of the high court of Kenya will also provide legal services to all the football clubs at the GRASSROOTS involving the rights of players and club duties/rights.

7. Integrity, Inclusivity and Stakeholder Relations
- Office will be open to all stakeholders for productive discourses
