N’Golo Kante could follow Vardy suit

N'Golo Kante

N'Golo Kante may end up staying at Leicester – as the Foxes do not have to sell him to any club that triggers his release clause.

France international Kante agreed a deal with the champions after joining 12 months ago from Ligue 1 side Caen.

But sources have confirmed that the 25-year-old midfielder’s arrangement does not mean he is automatically free to speak to everyone who meets the buy-out.

Leicester included the clause as a form of protection, but it remains to be seen which clubs are prohibited from following up their interest.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is the latest to show his hand, hinting this week that he – and others – are huge admirers of Kante’s.
