Nairobi man pays dearly for sharing nudes of Facebook lover

A man has landed in trouble for allegedly sharing nudes of a woman they met through Facebook. Daniel Orina is accused of publishing and disseminating obscene and intimate https://cdn.standardmedia.co.ke/images of the woman on his Facebook account on August 29th and 30th in South B, Nairobi. Orina, with others not before the court, was charged with the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act of 2018.

Orina, according to a statement recorded with authorities, sent a friend request to the woman after he saw her on Facebook earlier this year, where they used to chat until they reached an agreement to meet.

Sometimes in June, it is said that they agreed to meet at the man’s place, where they took their friendship to another level. They are said to have taken some pictures and videos.

In mid-August, the woman returned to Orina’s house to delete the videos and pictures from the suspect’s mobile phone. The lady stayed with Orina for four days before returning to her home and blocking him on social media.

A week later, she was shocked by the news that she was posting seductive and intimate pictures and videos on her Facebook timeline. She reported the case before Pangani police station on September 2, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) took up investigations. Orina was traced and arrested. Videos and pictures were retrieved and kept as exhibits.

Following his denial in court, Orina was granted a bond of Sh 200,000 by Hon. Agnes Mwangi.
