President William Ruto leaves the country Monday, December 4 for a two-day State visit to India.

According to State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, Ruto is set to hold bilateral talks with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the discussions will revolve around agriculture, trade, investment promotion, and healthcare partnerships among other crucial sectors including pharmaceutical production.

"The talks will lead to the signing of several memoranda of understanding that will strengthen the partnership between the two nations," Hussein said in a press release.

Ruto is also slated to meet President Droupadi Murmu before addressing a trade and investment forum where he will highlight the immense potential for economic cooperation between Kenya and India.

President Ruto's visit to India comes hours after COP28 President Sultan Al Jaber praised him (Ruto) for his "unprecedented climate brilliance" in bringing Africa together for the inaugural Africa Climate Summit which he said set the stage for this year's world's biggest climate gathering (COP28).

"The unprecedented climate action brilliance of Kenya's President William Ruto in launching the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) earlier this year and as a champion of climate action for Africa and the Global South has contributed immensely to setting the stage for COP28," said Dr Al Jaber during the conference in Dubai.
