Man United linked with move for Arsenal forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a £30million target for Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

And the Old Trafford boss plans to pursue a deal for the Arsenal and England midfielder – especially if the Gunners firm-up their long-standing interest in Chris Smalling this summer.

Mourinho wants to beef up his midfield and wide options this summer having sold winger Memphis Depay to Lyon and Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton during the January window, reports Mirror Football.

And with doubts surrounding a new contract for midfield lynchpin Michael Carrick - who will be 36 when next season starts – Oxlade-Chamberlain is on Mourinho's wish-list.

Chelsea duo Nemanja Matic and Willian would be first choice picks but it's unlikely Mourinho and United would get anywhere near a deal for two of Antonio Conte's biggest stars.
