Robin van Persie has emerged as a potential target for Crystal Palace.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United, 33, is currently at Fenerbahce but has been keen on a move back to the Premier League for some time.

New Palace boss Frank De Boer is said to be considering a move for his fellow Dutchman, who lifted the title with United in 2013. Fenerbahce are lining up a move for Roma forward Seydou Doumbia as a potential replacement.

Van Persie, who moved to Fenerbahce from United two years ago, scored 22 goals in his first season there - including 16 in the Turkish Super Lig.

He was offered to a number of clubs last summer after he revealed his frustrations at a lack of regular first-team football.

Stoke, West Ham and Middlesbrough were among several clubs here that turned down the chance to bring him back to the English game.

Van Persie remained in Turkey where he netted a total of 14 times in 34 appearances over the past season. His experience could now be invaluable to Palace alongside Christian Benteke whose goals helped to keep the club up.
