Nangah's winning shot floors golfers at Morning Team tourney

Home player Joseph Nangah claimed the Morning Team overall prize at Railway Club, over the weekend. Playing off handicap 24, Nangah shot sterling round total of 41 stableford points to lift the title during the tournament that saw a field of 146 golfers take part.

The tournament was presented by Springboard Capital Limited, Kenchic, East African Cables and Morning Team Members.

FN Kung’u, playing off handicap 18, finished second after posting a commendable score of 39 stableford points.

Martin Nderi, playing off handicap 17, returned 38 stableford points to settle for Men winner second, while Onyango Obiero bagged Men winner third on a score of 38 stableford points.

Men winner fourth was won by a handicap 9, SK Mwaura after garnering 38 stableford points.

Taking the Ladies honours was veteran lady golfer JaneAlice Mutuota, playing off handicap 25. She returned a whopping 37 stableford points ahead of Perpetual Wanjiru, who won Lady Winner second prize, on a score 37 stableford points.

Handicap 15 Rosemary Omanyo settled for Lady Winner third on a score of 35 stableford points.

Gross winner prize went to a handicap 4 Paul Ngugi with 78 gross, while youngster Thacker Mitash was the top junior golfer with 37 stableford points.

Railway Club chairman Timothy Ruhia, playing off handicap 12, won in the Senior winner prize with a score of 37 stableford points. Wilson Karanja, on a score of 34 stableford points, led in the sponsors category with 37 stableford points. David Owino was the sponsor winner second on a score of 32 stableford points.

In the commercials; Geoffrey Yego won the Longest Drive Men prize, while former Kenya One Lady Golfer Wanjiru Kaime won in the ladies category.
