The 2009 champions on Wednesday announced the decision through their social media platforms.

In a statement, Sofapaka confirmed the development, thanking the gaffer and wishing him better tidings ahead while maintaining that they will continue pushing for a top five finish this season.

“Sofapaka FC would like to announce that we have parted ways with the Head Coach Mr Ken Odhiambo on mutual consent. The club would like to thank Coach Ken Odhiambo for his time with Sofapaka Fc and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours,” said the club.

The club parted fired Odhiambo after a string of poor performances that have left the club 13th with 27 points in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League standings with 23 rounds already played.

Sofapaka has struggled in 2022 where the team won only one match in the 11 matches they played.

The club has announced that his assistant coach David Ouma will assume head coach duties with immediate effect, with the club's management expected to give more communication later.

“Mr David Ouma has been elevated to the position of the Head Coach with immediate effect. In the interim, the club will continue the fight to end the season in the top 5 of the league. The president and the club will make further announcements about the issue in due course.”

Sofapaka have only won six games after playing 23, drawing nine and losing seven, a performance that has left them in the bottom half of the log.
