Kenya Police on Saturday completed a second half comeback to condemn Mathare United to their 11th defeat of the season after beating them 2-1 in a FKF Premier League staged at Ruaraka Grounds.

Danson Kago gave the slum boys a 1-0 first lead before Duke Abuya’s scored five minutes into the second half to restore parity.

Former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards winger Clifton Miheso then completed a comeback for Bobby Ogolla's men with the winner from the spot in the 64th minute. This was Miheso's ninth goal of the campaign.

The win saw Police move into the ninth place with 19 points as Mathare remained 17th on the log with seven points

The match was stopped seven minutes in the game after what started as light showers quickly turned to a heavy downpour prompting the referee to interrupt play as everyone sought shelter.

After a 35-minutes stoppage, the match resumed and Kago opened scoring after finding space and stamina in the soggy Ruaraka Grounds, heading home a Jackson Juma cross to give his side the lead at the half hour mark.

Mathare held on to lead 1-0 at the break but five minutes into the second half, Abuya leveled the score for Police with a well taken strike.

Miheso sealed the win with a penalty awarded at the hour mark.

The goal saw Miheso extend his tally to nine goals for the season, continuing his lead at the summit of the scorers' chart.
