Kenya Police defeated Vihiga United 1-0  to book their ticket to the FKF Premier League on a 2-1  aggregate in the promotion/relegation second leg playoffs at Utalii Grounds yesterday.

Clinton Kinanga's first half strike was enough to propel the law enforcers to the Premier League for the first time in the clubs history.

Police will be making their debut in the top-flight and join National Super League winners FC Talanta and second-placed Vihiga Bullets.

Kinanga also scored in last week's 1-1 draw with Vihiga United in Mumias.

Vihiga will now drop to the second-tier league having escaped relegation in the 2019-20 season after winning the play-off against Kisumu All Stars.

Police headed to the match with an away goal advantage seeking promotion to the top-tier league after amassing 64 points in the just concluded NSL league while Vihiga were fighting to avoid relegation after finishing 16th in the Premier League, last season.

FC Talanta and Vihiga Bullets have already been promoted to topflight league after securing two automatic slots, with Zoo Kericho and Western Stima dropping to the NSL.

The Bob Ogolla-led side will now prepare to face Kakamega Homeboyz in their first game in the top flight league on Sunday away at Bukhungu Stadium.
