Liverpool’s English right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss the European Championship after sustaining a thigh injury on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old was forced off in the late stages of Three Lions’ 1-0 friendly win over Austria at the Riverside Stadium, UK, after he pulled up following a ball clearance.  He had to be supported while walking off the pitch.

Sky Sports reports scans done yesterday confirmed the Arnold suffered a tear in his quadriceps. He has returned to Liverpool for further treatment and is expected to be out for four to six weeks.

England's first game at the Euros will be against Croatia on Sunday, June 13, at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
