NSL: Kisumu All Stars eye top four as Talanta seek to maintain top spot

Kisumu All Stars will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways when they visit sixth placed Kibera Black Stars at Ligi Ndogo Grounds as National Super league (NSL) enters match day 18.

Silibwet held all Stars, also known as ‘Otenga’, to a barren draw last week but captain Bobby Kwaka is confident they will pull through against the slum boys.

Otenga are currently seventh in the log with 25 points, one point behind Kibera and a win over the hosts might take them back to the top four.

Speaking to the Standard Sports, All Stars captain Kwaka said they are ready for Kibera after working out their mistakes that saw them fail to win at home against Silibwet last time out.

“It was painful for us not to win a home match against Silibwet but that is football. We pick up ourselves during low times and work hard to get back to the top. This recovery plan starts with our match against Kibera on Saturday,” said the captain.

Kwaka believes they can still catch up with leaders Talanta, saying the season is too early to call.

“Our objective still remains the same, to get back to the premier league. We still believe we can make it back and we are going to sweat for it,” Kwaka said.

In Muranga, NSL leaders Talanta will be aiming to solidify their top spot position when they visit relegation threatened Muranga Seals at St. Sebastian Park.

Talanta are currently top of the table with 32 points, same as Kenya Police who will be tackling Nairobi Stima at Camp Toyoyo on Sunday.

In Kakamega, Soy United FC will welcome Sony Sugar FC as APS Bomet FC face Fortune Sacco FC in Bomet, the same stadium where Silibwet FC will host Modern Coast Rangers FC.

In Mombasa, Coast Stima FC will welcome Migori Youth FC at Mbaraki as Shabana take on MCF at Migori Stadium.
