FKF Premier League clubs Tusker, KCB, Kariobangi Sharks and Nairobi City Stars have all qualified to round 32 of this year’s Betway Cup after winning their respective matches yesterday.

Michael Madoya scored a hat-trick as Tusker demolished lower-tier side Mihuu United 9-0 at Sudi Stadium while Simon Abuko-led KCB overcame hosts Kiandege Jest 3-1 in Kisii.

Industrious Luke Namanda grabbed a brace in brewers’ emphatic win in Bungoma with other goals coming from Apollo Otieno, George Odhiambo, Charles Ashitiva and Frankline Nasibili’s own goal.

In Kitui, Ebrima Sanneh came off the bench to also net a double as 10-man Nairobi City Stars trounced Mutomo Tigers 4-1 in Kitui.

Kariobangi Sharks beat Flamingo 2-0 in Naivasha.

Timothy Puma cancelled out Evans Mutuse’s opener a few minutes into the second half before Sanneh made it 2-1 from Wesley Onguso’s long throw in the 70th minute.

Sanneh’s goal came three minutes after his teammate Charles Otieno was shown a straight red-card for dangerous play.

Davis Agesa then extended the lead in the 87th minute before Sanneh netted in injury time to seal the impressive win for the Kawangware-based side.

The domestic cup preliminary round action continues today with 13 matches on the card.

Three time winners Sofapaka take on hosts Kitale AllStars at Kenyatta Stadium, Kitale as holders Bandari battle away to National Super League side Murang’a Seal.

Aware of the task lying ahead of them, Sofapaka coach Ken Odhiambo has urged his players not to underrate their opponents Kitale AllStars.

“We know how difficult cup competitions are, but we are in this tournament to try and win it. That journey begins this weekend and we must go into that match with the seriousness it deserves.” said Odhiambo.

The match pitting record winners AFC Leopards and Taita Taveta AllStars in Wundanyi has been rescheduled.
