Africa Cup of Nations: Goalkeeper who was part of Sierra Leone squad in match against Kenya dies

Sierra Leone's goalkeeper Alhaji Dauda Conteh has died, aged 25, in a hospital in Freetown.

Conteh began his professional career with his local, Kissy Community before moving to East End Lions, F.C Kallon and  Diamond Stars, and had received several call-ups to Sierra Leone's squad.

According BBC, Conteh, who was part of Sierra Leone squad as sub goalkeeper in Africa Cup of Nations match against Kenya where 10 man Harambee Stars lost 2-1 to Sierra Leone- passed away after a short illness.

Despite being in the lineup that defeated Kenya, the 25 year old was left out of the playing squad due to illness in the team’s camp.
